Here is a nice piece of news for those who still have doubts about the Fox news channel being nothing more than an outlet for the Republican party......Fox News' parent company recently cut a $1 million check to the Republican Governors Association... and how much for the democratic counter part? NOTHING.
It doenst take a rocket scientist to realize in who's favor Fox will tilt their coverage of political elections. It is fair then to say that their coverage of the news is far from their claim of "fair and balanced"

For a long time conservatives have taken Christianity hostage, and sometimes in the heat of their self righteous rhetoric one may think that conservatives invented christian values......so have you stop to think what would Jesus be like if he was a Republican?
Well this cartoon from Mike Peter kind of illustrate it.

The Life That I Have
The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours
The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours.
A sleep I shall have
A rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours.

One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshit. Everyone knows this. Each of us contributes his share. But we tend to take the situation for granted. Most people are rather confident of their ability to recognize bullshit and to avoid being taken in by it. So the phenomenon has not aroused much deliberate concern, or attracted much sustained inquiry. In consequence, we have no clear understanding of what bullshit is, why there is so much of it, or what functions it serves. And we lack a conscientiously developed appreciation of what it means to us. In other words, we have no theory. I propose to begin the development of a theoretical understanding of bullshit, mainly by providing some tentative and exploratory philosophical analysis. I shall not consider the rhetorical uses and misuses of bullshit. My aim is simply to give a rough account of what bullshit is and how it differs from what it is not, or (putting it somewhat differently) to articulate, more or less sketchily, the structure of its concept.

Imagine being born without arms. No arms to wrap around someone, no hands to experience touch, or to hold another hand with. Or what about being born without legs? Having no ability to dance, walk, run, or even stand on two feet. Now put both of those scenarios together: no arms and no legs. What would you do? How would that effect your everyday life?

Just 10 minutes into the congressional testimony of BP CEO Tony "I'd like my life back" Hayward he got what he and BP deserved.......a heart felt apology from GOP Rep. Joe Barton of Texas on behalf of the Republican right wing.
For those who don't know who Mr Joe Barton is ...Aside from being a congressman representing the state of Texas, he is the highest-ranking Republican on the Energy and Commerce Committee, a firm conservative who has a long record of backing oil industry interests, and the politician that has recieved the most campain contributions from the oil industry since 1990.....

Vice President Joe Biden calls Congressman Joe Barton's statements about the BP escrow fund and his apology to BP CEO Tony Hayward as "incredibly insensitive" and "incredibly out of touch" in response to a reporter's question at a White House Press Briefing.

I came across someone’s list of 2009’s Top 10 psychology studies, and thought it was very interesting reading. You really should click on this link and see the original post by David DiSalvo, but Below is his list.
1. If you have to choose between buying something or spending the money on a memorable experience, go with the experience.
2. First impressions are all about value. The subjective evaluation we make when meeting someone new includes–to put it bluntly–what’s in it for us.
